One day at a time, one winner at a time.
Time to get back on track with this Atlanta-New York winner.
Since the Denver Nuggets went 52-30 Over the total in their 82 regular-season games this year, it's hard not to play today's opening playoff game at home against Minnesota to land Over the total.
True, the 4 regular season meetings between the Timberwolves and the Nuggets were a 2-2 Over/Under split, but 5 of the last 8 overall between the teams have landed Over the total, and that includes 2 of the last 3 played at Ball Arena, with BOTH of those games needing overtime to decide.
Minnesota ended its regular season with 3 straight Overs, and Overs played in 4 of their last 5 overall, while Denver ended its regular season with their final 5 games playing Over the total, and 9 of their last 11 games overall also landed Over the posted price.
The Nuggets ended the regular season as the #1 scoring team in the NBA at 122.1 points per game, while the Timberwolves, with 118 points per game, checked in at #6 in the league in scoring.
Stick with the percentages and play the Over this afternoon in the Mile High City.

A very interesting #6 versus #3 Eastern Conference opening-round series between the Hawks and the Knicks gets started tonight at Madison Square Garden, and I see this first game being a defensive-minded contest that goes Under the total.
These teams recently met in Atlanta on April 6th, and the game finished roughly 13 points Under the total. That Under was not a surprise, as 2 of the 3 regular-season meetings between these teams landed Under the total.
New York ranks #5 in scoring defense, allowing 110.2 points per game. Since midseason, the Knicks have posted a 108.2 defensive rating (2nd in the league over that stretch), while the Hawks are right behind at 109.9 (3rd in the league over that stretch).
5 of the last 7 series meetings between these teams since December of 2024 have landed Under the total.
With BOTH teams bringing it on the defensive end, it would not surprise me to see this game land in the low 100s.
That being the case, play Under the total in Game One of this Hawks-Knicks contest.

Saturday comp play is the Rockets as the road favorites over the injury-depleted Lakers.
Los Angeles was able to hang on to the #4 seed and gain the homecourt advantage in this series, and LA has even won and covered 2 of the 3 regular-season series meetings between the teams, but opening this series without Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic means Lakers' head coach JJ Redick is going to have his work cut out for him in this series.
All due respect to LeBron James, but the King is now 41 and is on the downside of his Hall-of-Fame career, and his days of being a one-man wrecking crew are a thing of the past.
The Rockets know full well that the longer this series plays on, the sooner both Reaves and Doncic return to active duty, so look for them to come out on a mission tonight at Crypto.com Arena.
Houston's lone win this year over Los Angeles did come in LA on Christmas Day in a blowout 119-96 win. The Rockets open this series as winners of 9 of their last 10 regular-season games.
Go with the Rockets against the undermanned Lakers tonight.
